If the nature of the fault is permanent and the substation coincidence will not be successful, then a local failure in a medium voltage user community will power down the entire 12kV distribution line. If an outdoor junction breaker is installed at the T junction or the customer end (responsibility demarcation point), it is ensured that the failure (overcurrent, short circuit, single phase grounding, etc.) in the user boundary is determined and the fault is automatically isolated. Users in non-faulty areas use power normally.
