Industry Overview
Drop-out fuses are installed on the branch lines of 10kV distribution lines to reduce the scope of power outages. Because they have an obvious disconnection point and have the function of an isolating switch, they create a safe working environment for the maintenance section lines and equipment and increase the sense of security of maintenance personnel. When installed on the distribution transformer, they can be used as the main protection of the distribution transformer. Therefore, they have been popularized in 10kV distribution lines and distribution transformers.
Solution
In the actual 10kV line system and the fuses on the distribution transformer cannot operate correctly. One of the reasons is that the electricians have poor quality and weak sense of responsibility, and they do not maintain and repair the drop-out fuses all year round; the second reason is that the product quality of the drop-out fuses is poor and cannot be pulled and closed flexibly. These two reasons reduce the function of the drop-out fuses. In reality, there are often cases of lack of fuse tubes, lack of fuses, or using copper wire, aluminum wire, or even iron wire hooks instead of fuses. This makes the line trip rate and the failure rate of the distribution transformer remain high.
10kV drop-
out fuses are suitable for outdoor places where the ambient air is free of conductive dust, corrosive gases, flammable and explosive dangerous environments, and the annual temperature difference ratio is within ±40℃. The selection is based on the two parameters of rated voltage and rated current, that is, the rated voltage of the fuse must match the rated voltage of the protected equipment (line). The rated current of the fuse device should be greater than or equal to the rated current of the fuse. The rated current of the fuse can be selected as 1.5 to 2 times the rated load current. In addition, the selected fuse should be checked according to the three-phase short-circuit capacity of the protected system. Ensure that the three-phase short-circuit capacity of the protected system is less than the upper limit of the rated disconnection capacity of the fuse, but must be greater than the lower limit of the rated disconnection capacity. If the rated disconnection capacity of the fuse (generally refers to its upper limit) is too large, it is likely that the three-phase short-circuit capacity of the protected system will be less than the lower limit of the rated disconnection capacity of the fuse, making it difficult to extinguish the arc when the fuse is blown, and eventually causing accidents such as melting tube burning and explosion.
